I decided to start a blog after hearing of people becoming known in their preferred industry this way and strengthening their careers.
As a quiet person with big ideas, I can’t wait to get started. I recently attended a lecture by someone who was offered a journalism job over Twitter because of her blogging techniques. That caught my interest!
I have been at Doncaster Council communications department doing a work placement towards my degree and I am really enjoying it. I’m working alongside a few communications officers and it seems like a really fun job. At the moment I’m hoping I can get a job like this when I graduate. Even if it is an internship.
I think it is terrible that graduates are having to work for free to be able to work in the sector they want. After years of studying and putting yourself in debt for the majority of the rest of your life, you’d think you would be able to work wherever you like.
But I guess I will just have to go with the flow, if I want it so bad (and I really do) I will strive and give all I can give to get there. That is what most people’s opinion should be if they want a career so badly, instead of moaning about it and getting nowhere!
